::Nature Photo Friday::

Each Friday I will post a nature photo from our adventures of the week. The photo will represent a moment that I want to remember, to take in the feelings of that outdoor experience. If you are inspired to do the same, share a link to your nature photo in the comments. There is so much beauty in the natural world to share, I hope you will join me!

{This week I am posting a few pictures from our trip to the ocean. We took a day off of school this week because, well, there was surf, and being that it is such a rare occurrence in northern New England, my surfin’ man just couldn’t resist it. So we packed up the kids and the car and made the trip to the beach. It was a great day – sunny, cool breeze, empty beach. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. While Daddy was out on the waves, the kids and I passed the time playing and exploring on the beach. And, really, it offered so many learning opportunities that it was worth missing a day of school. We examined the various types of seaweed washed up on shore. We found rocks and shells. We explored the areas that are covered by water at high tide, discovering barnacles and snails. We flew kites in the wind and talked about why we were quickly losing our beach space due to the incoming tide. It was a good day.}
